Midst freezing winters, there’s nothing like an escape to somewhere warm- somewhere you could wear those forgotten sandals. Okinawa, just an hour flight away from Taiwan, offers a peek into Japan while still having the luxury of beaches. And of course they’re all pristine, thanks to the Japanese perfectionist mentality. While my trip was quick, there is plenty to see (like the Aquarium and the Shuri Castle- two must visits) for those who feel restless on the beach. So whoever said vacation is a state of the mind, seriously needs to take a short trip to the paradise.

As you can see, I’m already onto the typical new year resolution of working out before the party even started (and so should you). And yet falling short of those goals is typical too. So how can you make sure that 2017 is the year you become the best version of yourself? Simply follow these steps (with a gym metaphor): View Post
Yes, yes these pics aren’t quite winter appropriate, but what’s more fitting than stretching photos when talking about the final stretch? Pun aside, it’s that time of the year when we start scrambling for gifts, bonuses or whatever closures that matter to us. And with no doubt, 2016 has been a crazy year for a lot of us, so here’s to some extra scrambling for a new year.
‘Tis the season to attend the mass funeral New York attends: wear black season. If you read my blog, you’ll know that I’m BIG on color and prints, so colder days aren’t off the hook. So how exactly can you avoid being another bypasser who routines in lazy-chic?
In today’s Lunch Break Chats, we caught up with Karolina Mrozkova, full-time model and business student at NYU Stern, and discovered what it’s really like to be in such different environments.
First of all, congratulations on your cover for Marie Claire! How did it feel to see yourself on the newsstand?
Thanks! Well technically I did not – this particular cover came out in Europe and I was not there when it did… but it always makes my mum super happy! In general though, scoring a cover is an honor. It feels great and rewarding; especially for a big magazine like MC, Elle or Vogue.
What’s something surprising that most people don’t know about the modeling industry?
It is not so glamorous as people think it is. No private jets, 5 star hotels and fancy dinners – at least most of the time for most of us. I guess people tend to look at modeling through the top 10 models they know but that is like judging the business industry based on Larry Ellison. And most of the time you don’t get or get to keep the clothes! (that’s a question I often get)
And what’s your favorite part about being a model?
The traveling. Independence. Meeting new people all around the world. Gaining a global perspective and open-mindedness. View Post
